It's the middle of the fourth week of class. How are you doing? What have you been learning in your classes? What have you seen and done so far? What has happened since our class began?
Write a post for your blog that gives an update of your American experience. Use the verb forms that we studied in class.
This blog is a place to document the language learning experiences of the UMEI003 class at the Maryland English Institute, University of Maryland College Park during the Fall 2006 semester. The class begins on Sept. 8, 2006 and ends on December 7, 2006. The students are enrolled in two classes: Reading/Writing/Grammar (which includes the blog project) and Listening/Speaking. Classes meet Monday through Friday. The students are adults, aged 18-30+. Their proficiency level is intermediate.
I have been a Lecturer in English as a Second Language at the University of Maryland, College Park (Maryland English Institute) since 1981. Since beginning my ESL career in France in 1971, I have taught primarily in higher education settings. I also enjoy working with adults from the immigrant community.
I live in Gaithersburg, Maryland with my husband Christoforos and our daughter, Vicki.
